Good Dental Hygiene
Good quality dental hygiene is most effective way to protect you and your family from tooth decay and gum disease.
We recommend that you attend regular examinations every 6-12 months, depending on your situation. This will help minimise your treatment time and cost, and can help reduce the need for extensive restorative treatment.
You should of course brush your teeth twice daily, in the morning after breakfast and at night before going to bed. It is also important to floss regularly, flossing helps to remove plaque in between your teeth.
Your diet is also closely related to dental health. You should avoid excessive consumption of sweets, sticky foods, and between-meal snacks. Try to choose teeth-friendly snacks such fresh fruits and vegetables, cheese, milk.

Flouride
Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay by strengthening the tooth’s enamel and making it more resistant to acids and harmful bacteria. Fluoride can be administered topically to adults and children to prevent against cavities. Fluoride tooth pastes and gels are also used to help control tooth sensitivity. When an individual is suffering from dry mouth, fluoride trays can prevent rampant decay caused by a lack of salivary flow.
X-rays
Dental X-rays provide valuable information which your dentist could not detect otherwise. With the help of x-rays, your dentist can look at what is happening in areas that are not visible clinically. X-rays can detect cavities between the teeth and can depict approximately how deep a cavity extends relative to the nerve. They can also help diagnose periodontal disease, abscesses, cysts, tumours, developmental abnormalities and infection in the bone. Our surgery is fully equipped with digital x-ray, using only around a third of the radiation of conventional x-rays.
